LDWA - Hangover Hike

The 19th Hangover Hike : Thursday 1 January 2026
The event is organised by The Irregulars (LDWA) and takes place at The Leggers Inn, Mill Street East, Dewsbury, West Yorkshire WF12 9BD (GR SE249207). It is offered as a walk or run on circular routes that start and finish at the pub. Route descriptions, maps and GPX files are available to download.

All routes converge at a main refreshment checkpoint, so participants may shorten or lengthen their route on the day. Entry is by advance online entry via SiEntries: advance fees are £9.00 for LDWA members and £11.00 for non-members. Entry on the day is £15 if places are available. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult; U-18s must be LDWA members or walk with a parent or guardian. Both LDWA and non-LDWA walkers and runners are accepted. Dogs are allowed but must be under constant control.
Entry includes tea and toast at registration, cold drinks and snacks at checkpoints, and a finisher certificate; participants are asked to bring their own mug. Maps required: Explorer 278 and 288. Recommended equipment for this winter event includes waterproofs, warm clothing, suitable footwear, map, compass, whistle and torch. Participants who retire must do so at a checkpoint; marshals may withdraw anyone whose fitness is in doubt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
