The 20th Hangover Hike
The 20th Hangover Hike takes place on 1 January 2027 at The Leggers Inn, Mill Street East, Dewsbury, West Yorks. The event offers participants a choice to walk or run on circular countryside routes with checkpoints and refreshments.
Distances offered
- 10 miles (15 km)
- 17 miles (27 km)
- 21 miles (34 km)
All routes converge at the main refreshment checkpoint, allowing participants to shorten or lengthen their route during the event. Route descriptions, maps and GPX files are available to download from the LDWA. The organisers note the route has changed and advise downloading the updated description and GPX files in December. Maps required are Explorer 278 and 288.
Entries are managed via SiEntries, with entry fees listed as £12 for LDWA members and £14 for non LDWA. Children under 16 accompanied by an adult may enter free. Entry on the day is £20 if places remain. Entries open 6 June 2026 and close 27 December 2026.
Entry includes tea and toast at registration, cold drinks and snacks at checkpoints, and a finisher certificate; participants are asked to bring their own mug. Food and a selection of real ales are available at The Leggers Inn at the end of the route. Dogs are allowed but must be under constant control. As a winter event, participants should carry appropriate equipment including waterproofs, warm clothing, suitable footwear, map, compass, whistle and torch. Marshals may withdraw participants for safety or if they fall behind schedule, and anyone retiring must do so at a checkpoint. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
