Event overview
The 19th Hangover Hike is a New Year walking and running event on 1 January 2026, based at The Leggers Inn, Mill Street, Dewsbury, West Yorkshire WF12 9BD (GR SE249207). Participants may choose one of three circular routes that converge at a main refreshment checkpoint, allowing routes to be shortened or lengthened on the day. Route descriptions, maps and GPX files are available to download. Maps required are Explorer 278 and 288.

Both walkers and runners may take part. Dogs are allowed but must be under constant control. U-18s must be LDWA members or walk with a parent or guardian; U-16s must walk with a parent or guardian.
Entry and practical information
Advance entry is via SiEntries only; paper entries are not accepted. Advance fees are £9.00 for LDWA members and £11.00 for non-LDWA entrants. Entry on the day is £15 if places are available. Children under 16 accompanied by an adult are welcome and entry is free.
Entry includes tea and toast at registration, cold drinks and snacks at checkpoints, and a finisher certificate. Participants are asked to bring their own mug. The organiser notes that those with food allergies should take personal precautions. As a winter event, entrants are advised to carry waterproofs, warm clothing, suitable footwear, map, compass, whistle and torch. Participants who retire must do so at a checkpoint; marshals may withdraw participants if fitness is in doubt or if they fall behind schedule.
