Event overview
The 19th Hangover Hike is a winter walking and running event held on Thursday 1 January 2026. It is organised by The Irregulars and takes place from The Leggers Inn, Mill Street East, Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, WF12 9BD (grid ref SE249207). Entries opened on 25 March 2025 and close on 27 December 2025 at 18:00. Entry numbers so far are listed as 22 participants.
Routes, entry and practical information
The event offers three circular routes. Distances are:
- 10 miles (15 km)
- 17 miles (27 km)
- 21 miles (34 km)
All routes converge at the main refreshment checkpoint; participants may shorten or lengthen routes on the day. Route descriptions, maps and GPX files are available to download. Maps required are Explorer 278 and 288.
Entry fees: £9.00 for LDWA members, £11.00 for non-LDWA. Children under 16 accompanied by an adult have free entry. Entry on the day is £15 if places are available. To enter, participants must register or log in with the SiEntries system.
Refreshments and services: tea and toast at registration, cold drinks and snacks at checkpoints, and a finisher certificate. Participants are asked to bring their own mug. Food and real ales are available at The Leggers Inn at the finish.
Safety and rules: dogs are allowed but must be under constant control. U-18s must be LDWA members or walk with a parent/guardian; U-16s must walk with a parent/guardian. Participants should carry winter equipment (waterproofs, warm clothing, suitable footwear, map, compass, whistle and torch). Retiring participants must do so at a checkpoint and marshals may withdraw participants for fitness or timing reasons. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
