The 19th Hangover Hike (1 January 2026)
The event is a led walk or run held on 1 January 2026 from The Leggers Inn, Mill Street, Dewsbury, West Yorkshire (WF12 9BD). It offers circular routes that share a main refreshment checkpoint, allowing participants to shorten or lengthen their route on the day. Tea and toast are provided at registration, with cold drinks and snacks at checkpoints and a finisher certificate for participants. Maps, route descriptions and GPX files are available to download. Maps Explorer 278 and 288 are listed as required.

Advance entries are taken online via the SiEntries system; paper entries are not accepted. Advance fees are listed separately for LDWA and non-LDWA entrants, with a higher fee for entry on the day if places remain. Both LDWA and non-LDWA walkers and runners are welcome. U-18s must be LDWA members or be accompanied by a parent or guardian; U-16s must be accompanied. Dogs are allowed but must be under constant control. As a winter event, participants are asked to carry appropriate equipment such as waterproofs, warm clothing, suitable footwear, map, compass, whistle and torch. Participants who retire must do so at a checkpoint and marshals may withdraw participants for safety or time reasons. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
