From Grief to Grace Memorial 5K
The From Grief to Grace Memorial 5K is a community memorial run scheduled for October 24, 2026, in Winter Garden, Florida. The event takes place at Chapin Station Park, 501 Crown Point Cross Rd, on the West Orange Trail, and uses a 5K course along the trail.
The race was created to honor a young person whose life was lost and to focus community attention on three areas: responsible gun ownership and safe firearm storage, organ eye and tissue donation education through Donate Life, and grief support for individuals and families. Organizers describe the event as a space for wellness, remembrance, and community connection where participants and partners can access resources and support.
Entry fees are published in advance: $30 until midnight on Sunday, October 11, 2026, which includes a custom shirt; $35 through Friday, October 23, 2026 at 6pm; and $40 on race day. Late and race day entries are not guaranteed a shirt. Pre-race packet pick up will be announced if a location is secured.
Awards will be presented to the first place overall male and female finishers and to first place in age groups. Age groups are 9 and under, 10 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over. A virtual race app option is available to track and upload verified times.
