Laurel House 5K
The Laurel House 5K is an annual community event held in Newark, New York. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Laurel House Comfort Care Home. Participants can choose between an in-person road race or a virtual option for those who cannot attend on the scheduled date. The in-person 5K course is officially certified under code NY20004KL.
The race route begins on Main Street near the Post Office and concludes on East Avenue near the Alex Eligh Community Center. Registration for the event takes place in Central Park. For the virtual 5K, participants select their own time and location, with the option to submit their results and photos for inclusion in the official race standings.

The Superhero Sprint is a dedicated fun run for children ages 10 and under. This short course is designed for children and includes interactions with local first responders and community heroes. All participants in the youth sprint receive a goodie bag and a medal.
Top finishers in the 5K are recognized across various age categories, including 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. Registered participants receive a race shirt and a bag containing snacks and coupons.
