Laule'a Half Marathon
The Laule'a event on Saturday, July 11, 2026 takes place in the Wai Kai and Hoakalei area of Ewa Beach on Oʻahu's leeward coast. The program includes three distances and courses that pass the signature golf course and provide views of the Leeward Coast at Nimitz Beach.
Distances
- 5K: 100% asphalt.
- 10K: 81% asphalt, 12% asphalt with adjacent soft surface, 7% concrete.
- Half marathon: 38% asphalt, 58% asphalt with adjacent soft surface, 4% concrete.
Courses are measured no fewer than three times before race day. Aid stations are placed at an average of about one mile apart and include water, electrolytes and first-aid support. Medical staff are present at each start and finish location. Timing uses disposable chips and electronic results are available via a QR code on the bib.
Included items and services for entrants comprise finisher medals with distance specific ribbons, cooling towels, free race photos, gear check and plentiful porta-potties. Souvenir bibs are personalized for those who register by the advance deadline, while race shirts and the post-race meal are optional add-ons. The post-race meal offering includes breakfast burritos and chocolate milk with vegetarian options.
The event benefits Protectors of Paradise, an organization that conducts large-scale cleanups and youth programs; on Earth Day 2025 more than 40,000 pounds of rubbish were removed from a documented illegal dumping site. Parking is available in paved and gravel lots and Wai Kai permit rules ask attendees to avoid single-use plastic containers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
