Laule'a Half Marathon

Laule'a (pronounced lou-LAY-ah, meaning friendship and good will) is a running event held at Wai Kai in Ewa Beach on Oʻahu’s leeward coast. The event offers three distances: 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon. Courses run through the Hoakalei community and along Keone’ula Boulevard, passing Ernie Els’ signature golf course and views of the Leeward Coast at Nimitz Beach. The organizer describes the courses as flat and fast; surface breakdowns list asphalt, asphalt with adjacent soft surface, and concrete depending on the distance.

Race services include distance-specific finisher medals, cooling towels at the finish, souvenir personalized bibs for those who register by the advance deadline, and optional race shirts and post-race meals. Professional race photography is provided with free unlimited downloads. Additional race amenities are gear check, multiple portable restrooms, accurately measured courses (measured at least three times), and disposable timing chips with no return fees.

Aid stations are placed on average about one mile apart and offer water, electrolytes and first-aid support. Medical staff are available at every start and finish area. Results are posted electronically and can be accessed via the QR code on race bibs.
