Last Man Standing - Lumberton
Last Man Standing in Lumberton, Texas is a looped endurance challenge held at a local park near 1300 TX-421. The course is a two-loop design totaling 4 miles, running on well-maintained trails, shaded paths, and open stretches. The terrain is described as friendly to all levels, while the event format emphasizes repeated loops until only a single competitor remains.
Organizers provide multiple support options on course. There are two aid stations: an unmanned station on the back side of the course (mile 1) and a main aid station located near the finish area. Available supplies include water, electrolytes, pickle juice, cola, and snacks. A designated area near the start line is available for drop bags and athlete camps; organizers recommend bringing a small canopy and personal supplies for use between loops.
The event schedule includes packet pickup on the days before the main running period and a briefing before the start. Remaining racers are expected to continue through the night with spectator support on the following day.
Proceeds support NMA, a nonprofit that works with 1egacy Group, law enforcement, advocacy groups, and families to recover missing and exploited children. The nonprofit’s activities include tracking traffickers, conducting outreach, responding to crises, and supporting efforts to bring children home. Awards include a finisher medal with a patch showing loops completed, a finisher shirt, and prizes for winners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
