Event Overview
The Last Alarm 5K is a community sports event held in Wilmington, Delaware. The race takes place at Abessinio Stadium and follows an out and back course through Brandywine Park. Participants can choose between running and competitive walking categories.
The event supports the Delaware Fallen Heroes Scholarship Fund, which provides educational assistance to the children of first responders who have been fully disabled or lost in the line of duty.
Distance Options

- 5 km Competitive Walking
The competitive walking category requires participants to walk the entire distance without jogging or running. Registration is available for general participants, students, military personnel, first responders, and youth aged 17 and under.
Course and Logistics
The course starts and finishes at Abessinio Stadium, utilizing the scenic paths of Brandywine Park. The race is chip-timed using the MYLAPS BibTag Timing System. Due to insurance liability, dogs are not permitted on the course, and bibs are non-transferable.
Amenities and Awards
Registered participants receive a tee shirt if registered by the specified deadline. Post-race refreshments are provided, including an ice cream truck. Awards are presented to the overall male and female winners, masters winners over age 40, and the top three finishers in 10 year age groups ranging from 13 and under to 80 and over.
