LASAA Mug Run - LASD Men's Central Jail
The LASAA Mug Run is a running event held at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Men's Central Jail facility. Established in 1993, this event series began as a small gathering for law enforcement personnel. Over several decades, the race has expanded its participation to include the general public and now hosts over 300 runners.
The event is organized by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Athletic Association (LASAA). The organization aims to provide athletic opportunities for department employees and law enforcement personnel while fostering positive interaction and competition with the local community.
Participants can choose from two different distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 10K (6.2 miles)
The race takes place at 441 Bauchet Street in Los Angeles. Registration is open to all interested runners, with a standard entry fee of $30.00 that increases on the day of the event.
