Lansing Turkey Trot : Lansing, MI
The Lansing Turkey Trot is a running event held on November 26, 2026 in Lansing, Michigan, with both an in-person 5k run/walk and a virtual 3.1 mile option. Registration opens May 1, 2026 and closes in mid-November.
The in-person event uses an open, flexible start area and timing begins when participants cross the timing mats. There is ample free parking in the Lansing Community College parking ramp; volunteers will assist with access and participants may exit the ramp before the last runner finishes. Shirts are available in all sizes while supplies last.
Packet pick up is at Playmakers community center on the two days before the event from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, and race day packet pickup is available at Lansing Community College in the Gannon building on the first floor. Packets may be collected on behalf of others.
Awards are distributed on race day at an outdoor awards table. Medals go to the top three in multiple age groups ranging from 10 and under through 85 plus. Overall awards include medals and a $50 Playmakers gift certificate for male and female Overall, Master over 40, and Grand Master over 50.
The virtual event allows participants to run between November 22 and November 30. Virtual entries include a mailed shirt and bib; there are no awards for the virtual event. Proceeds support high school and middle school cross country and track programs and youth running clubs through a grant program. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
