Event Overview
The Lanikai 8K Run in Memory of Daniel Levey is a running event held at Kailua Beach Park in Kailua, Hawaii. It honors a participant, Daniel Levey, who died in a hiking accident in 2003, the day after completing that year's race.

Course Details
The course is described as a scenic route through Lanikai. The race starts at the Lanikai Monument on the hill entering the neighborhood. Participants then run two counterclockwise loops on the Lanikai Bike Path before finishing near the Lanikai Boat Ramp. Participants are asked to self-seed, with faster runners moving to the front and walkers towards the back.
Additional Information
After finishing, participants receive free shave ice from Island Snow. Parking is available at the Boat Ramp area and in Kailua Beach Park.
Race packets can be picked up the day before the race at The Running Room on Kapahulu Avenue, or on race morning starting at 5:30 a.m. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers overall, as well as the top three in five-year age groups. There is also a special award for the first finisher in Daniel Levey's age group. Results are posted online shortly after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
