Lanikai 8K Run in Memory of Daniel Levey
The event takes place on July 19, 2026, at Kailua Beach Park in Kailua, HI. The race is organized as an 8-kilometer run/walk held in memory of Daniel Levey. There is a special award for the first finisher in his age group. The event includes a stroller division alongside the main 8K.
Course and logistics
The course uses a bunch start at the Lanikai Monument on the hill entering Lanikai, then two counterclockwise loops of the Lanikai Bike Path, with the finish near the Lanikai Boat Ramp. Participants are asked to place faster runners toward the front and walkers toward the back to reduce collisions.
Distances:
- 8K run/walk
- Stroller division (8K)
Packet pickup is available the day before at The Running Room, 819 Kapahulu Ave, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, and on race morning starting at 5:30 a.m. Parking is available in the Boat Ramp area and in Kailua Beach Park.
