The Lakes 3000 Ultra
The Lakes 3000 Ultra is a mountain running event in the Lake District that links four 3,000 ft peaks over established public rights of way. The route covers 54 miles (87 km) with about 15,000 ft (4,500 m) of ascent and must be completed within a 24 hour time limit. The start and finish are at The Pencil Factory in Keswick. The course uses recognised paths and is physically marked in sections. Entrants receive an official GPX file, a waterproof map and detailed route notes for navigation.
Event support includes high-fell medical coverage with three dedicated mountain medical stations and CQC medical presence at all aid stations. There are four fully stocked aid stations offering a range of food, nutrition and hydration. Race control monitors competitors with live GPS tracking. The entry fee covers live safety tracking, the navigation pack, secure drop bag logistics, a hot meal and drinks at the finish, an official event buff and an exclusive finisher medal. The event is listed as a UTMB Index Race, Category 100K. Participants must be at least 20 years old, carry the full mandatory kit at all times and agree to the runner declaration and event rules.
