The Lakes 3000 Ultra

The Lakes 3000 Ultra is a mountain ultramarathon across four Lake District summits of 3,000 feet or more. The route covers 54 miles (87 km) with over 15,000+ ft / 4,500+ m of ascent on rough ground, featuring long climbs and extended fell running sections.

The course links the four highest peaks in the Lake District and must be completed within strict cut offs over a 24 hour period. The route is marked with four strategically placed checkpoints. Live GPS tracking and on‑route safety teams provide participant monitoring and support throughout the event.

The event takes place in Keswick, Cumbria, CA12 5FD, on 26th June 2027, and is set within the Lake District, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The organiser presents the route as a full day in the fells, with terrain that requires navigation across rugged paths and mountain ground.

Information provided for participants includes a runners guide, kit list, rules and an accessibility and support guide. The event also highlights volunteer involvement and a focus on sustainability. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
