Lakers Sports & Social 10K Charity Run 2026
The event takes place at Avondale Forest Park in Rathdrum, Wicklow, on 19 September 2026. It is organized by Lakers Social & Recreational Club and is presented as a charity run and walk with a single mapped course.
The course follows the Avondale Parkrun route: a 5 km loop that participants complete twice. The route uses the white Multi Access Route and part of the dark orange Cairn Walk. The course will be marshalled and volunteers will direct participants from the car parks to the orientation room at the Old Avondale Reception and through the Pavilion to the start area.
Practical arrangements include parking at Avondale, with attendants admitting vehicles that quote “Lakers.” A water station is located by the start line and will be passed several times; participants may use refillable bottles and volunteers can assist with filling. A prizegiving will be held after the event, with complimentary refreshments and awards. The Avondale café offers specialty teas and coffees at personal cost.
