Lakeland Trails Ultra : Ambleside, 10 July 2027
The Lakeland Trails Ultra is a multi-distance trail running event based in Ambleside, Cumbria, on 10 July 2027. Courses run on Lake District trails and are fully waymarked and marshalled. GPX files are available for the ultra distances.
Distances
- 100 km - ultra distance with extra mountain passes and 8 feed stations.
- 55 km - includes 3 mountain passes, about 7,000 ft ascent and 5 feed stations.
- 23 km - shares final sections of the ultra courses with scenic views.
- 14 km - shorter trail sharing final sections and a water station.
Timing and tracking Real-time GPS tracking is provided for the Ultra 100k and 55k events; the 23k and 14k use chip timing. The 100k is self-navigated on part of the route until it joins the 55k course at Patterdale.
Safety and support Compulsory kit checks apply for the 100k and 55k and photographic ID is required to collect race numbers. Required kit includes waterproof jacket and trousers, head torch (plus spare for the 100k), first aid items, whistle, mobile phone, emergency blanket or bivi bag, a cup, and basic food and drink. Strict safety cut-off times are operated and multiple feed and water stations are provided to supplement personal supplies.
Event village and services The start and finish arena in Rothay Park hosts food and retail stalls, PA commentary, professional medical cover, radio communications and event insurance.
