Lakefront 10 Miler & 5K
The Lakefront 10 Miler & 5K is a spring road race held at Montrose Beach in Lincoln Park, Chicago. The event offers two distances:
- 10 Mile
- 5K
The course begins on the Wilson Track and follows the Chicago Lakefront Path with views of the lake shore, the Chicago skyline, and Montrose, Belmont, and Diversey Harbors. The 10 Mile route runs south to Fullerton and returns north to the Montrose Avenue tunnel; the 5K splits from the 10 Mile at the first pass of the Montrose Avenue tunnel. In the final mile, both distances run up and down Cricket Hill and finish on Wilson Track.
The race is chip timed and posts mile markers at each mile. Water and Gatorade Endurance are available at the start, the finish, and at aid stations located at 2.1, 4.6, 6.7, and 9.2 miles; medical support is available at on-course aid stations. Finishers medals are provided for both distances. The event includes race shirts, a custom keepsake bib, post-race beverages, and packet pick-up before race day.
Awards are given to the top three overall individuals in male, female, and non-binary categories for both distances. Prize money is offered for the top three 10 Mile finishers. A portion of proceeds supports CARA hydration stations along Chicago’s lakefront. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
