Lakefront 10 Miler & 5K
The Lakefront 10 Miler & 5K is an annual spring road race presented by Fleet Feet and organized by the Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA). The event takes place at Montrose Beach in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago and uses the Lakefront Trail for both courses.

Both courses begin on Wilson Track and finish on the final straightaway of Wilson Track after running up and over Cricket Hill. The 10 mile route follows the Lakefront Trail with a turnaround near North Avenue and passes Diversey Harbor. The 5K heads north from Wilson Track, follows Foster Beach and Montrose Harbor, then returns along the lakefront to the shared finish.
Amenities and event features include a quarter-zip, finisher medal for all finishers, professional announcing, post-race beverages, and packet pick-up options. The 10 mile offers prize money for the top three finishers and is part of the Chicago Racing Circuit. Overall awards are given to the top three individuals in male, female, and non-binary categories for both distances. Age group recognition is provided across multiple age divisions for each race.
Event policies note that refunds and deferrals are not issued. A gear check is available but is not covered. A portion of race proceeds supports CARA hydration stations along Chicago’s lakefront. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
