Lakefront 10 Miler & 5K
The Lakefront 10 Miler & 5K takes place on Sunday, April 11, 2027, at Montrose Beach in Lincoln Park, Chicago. The event uses routes on the Chicago lakefront and finishes on Wilson Track after a climb over Cricket Hill.
Distances
- 10 Mile along the Chicago lakefront; includes Cricket Hill and track finish.
- 5K along the lakefront, via Foster Beach and Montrose Harbor.
Course details note that both races begin on Wilson Track and use the Lakefront Trail; the 10 Mile includes a turnabout near North Avenue and uses the Diversey underpass. The 5K follows the trail past Foster Beach and Montrose Harbor before the same final ascent over Cricket Hill.
Amenities and logistics include event packet pick-up at Fleet Feet locations on April 2, April 4, and April 10, a packet mailing option with a March 22 deadline, a quarter-zip item, finisher medals for all finishers in both distances, and post-race beverages. Results will be posted live and available at on-site kiosks.
Awards and prize structure: overall awards are given to the top three individuals in male, female, and non-binary categories for both distances. The 10 Mile also offers prize money for top three finishers: First $500, Second $350, Third $150. Recognition awards are provided to top three men and women in the listed age groups for each race. Participants must finish within two hours and thirty minutes of the race start window. A portion of race proceeds supports CARA lakefront hydration stations that provide water and Gatorade at eight seasonal locations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
