Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon
The Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon is a half marathon that starts and finishes in the village of Llanwddyn and follows a clockwise lap around Lake Vyrnwy. The route is described by the organiser as a fast one lap course and a course record of 1.02.14 is listed.
Race headquarters and the race village are near the start and finish. The Race Start and Finish area is described as having music, flags and a help desk for last minute issues. The race village is a short five minute walk from the event car park. The organiser requests that runners leave bags and belongings in their cars because no baggage drop is offered.
The event is located in a rural area with a single road in, and all spectators and runners must use the designated event car park in Llanwddyn, Powys SY10 0LT; there is no other car parking available in the village or at the lake. The organiser notes a generous race cut off time so participants can return to the finish before public roads are fully reopened.
On completion participants receive a unique finishers medal, water and a cereal bar. Prizes are listed for the top three female and top three male finishers plus 14 age group winners, and the charity partner is to be confirmed. The event is currently listed as sold out.
