Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon
The Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon is scheduled for Sunday 13 September 2026 and is currently sold out. The event is a half marathon that starts and finishes in the village of Llanwddyn in Powys.
The route makes a clockwise, one lap circuit around Lake Vyrnwy. The organisers describe the course as fast and note an existing course record of 1:02:14. The course runs on public roads and passes around the full perimeter of the lake, offering views of the surrounding area.
Race HQ at the start and finish will feature music, flags and a help desk. The race village is a short five minute walk from the event car park. All participants and spectators must use the event car park in Llanwddyn, Powys SY10 0LT; there is no other official parking at the lake. The location is rural with a single road in, so extra travel time is advised.
At the finish each participant receives a unique finisher medal, water and a cereal bar. There is no baggage drop provided, so runners are asked to leave belongings in their cars. The organisers state a generous race cut off time so entries can return before public roads are fully reopened.
Prizes are awarded to the top three female and top three male finishers and to 14 age group winners (seven female and seven male). The event charity partner is to be confirmed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
