Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon
The Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon is a one-lap road race that starts and finishes in the village of Llanwddyn in Powys. The route runs clockwise around Lake Vyrnwy and is noted as extremely fast; the course record is 1.02.14. After finishing, participants receive a unique finisher medal, water and a cereal bar.
The race village is a short walk from the event car park and features music, flags and a help desk at Race HQ. The event car park is in Llanwddyn (SY10 0LT); there is no other parking available in the village or at the lake, and the car park is about a five minute walk from the start and finish. The location is rural with a single access road, so extra travel time is advised.
The organiser sets a generous race cut off time so participants can complete the course before public roads reopen. There is no baggage drop, so runners are asked to leave belongings in their cars. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers, plus 14 age group winners (seven female and seven male). The event charity partner is to be confirmed.
