Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon
The Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon takes place in the village of Llanwddyn, Powys, and follows a one lap clockwise route around Lake Vyrnwy. The route offers continuous lake views and is described by the organiser as extremely fast; the course record is 1.02.14.
The race start and finish are at Race HQ in Llanwddyn. The Race HQ area includes music, flags and a help desk. The race village is a short walk from the event car park. The event location is rural with a single road in, so participants should allow extra time for travel.
All runners and spectators must use the event car park in Llanwddyn, SY10 0LT. From there it is a brief walk to the start and finish. There is no other car parking available in Llanwddyn or at the lake. Organisers will not provide a baggage drop; participants are asked to leave belongings in their cars.
Finishers receive a unique medal, water and a cereal bar. The event includes awards for the top three female and top three male finishers, plus 14 age group winners (seven female and seven male). The event status is listed as sold out and the charity partner is to be confirmed. A generous race cut off time is in place to allow all participants to reach the finish before public roads reopen.
