About the race
The Lake Tahoe Triathlon is scheduled for August 29 and 30, 2026 at Sugar Pine Point and Sugar Pine Beach on Lake Tahoe, California. The event program runs across two days and includes multiple race formats, an expo at the main venue, and award ceremonies with award pick up available at the main venue.
Race formats and distances:
- Sprint: 500 meter swim, 10 mile bike, 2 mile run
- Olympic: 0.9 mile swim, 25 mile bike, 6.7 mile run
- Half 70.3: 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run
- Aquabike: 1.2 mile swim plus 56 mile bike or 1500 meter swim plus 25 mile bike
- Duathlon: 2 mile run, 25 mile bike, 6.7 mile run
Check-in policies require every athlete to show a photo ID at packet pickup. Athletes must check in for themselves; youth athletes without an ID must be accompanied by a parent or guardian with a photo ID.
Cutoff and event end policies are measured from the final swim wave start for each distance. For the Half 70.3 the published cutoffs are 1 hour 10 minutes for the swim, 5 hours 30 minutes for the bike, and an overall race end at 8 hours 30 minutes after the final half swim wave start. For the Olympic distance the swim cutoff is 1 hour and the race end is 5 hours 30 minutes after the final Olympic swim wave start.
