Lake Samish Runs
Lake Samish Runs is an annual road race with two distances held around Lake Samish. The event is chip timed by Pacific Multi Sports and is run on roads with very little elevation gain.
Distances offered:
- 6.5 mile, one loop around Lake Samish
- 13.1 mile, two loops plus a short dog leg to make a half marathon
The event is limited to 300 runners. Parking at the Lake Samish Park and Ride or near the North Lake Samish Shell station is used, with Baker Bus shuttling participants to the Lake Samish Lodge. Parking is limited and carpooling is advised. Packet pickup, race chips, bib numbers, and merchandise sales take place at the Lake Samish Lodge on race day; there is no early packet pickup and the lodge opens the morning of the event.
Walkers are permitted but there are no early start times for walkers and the course closes after three hours. Dogs are not allowed on the course. Entry fees differ for members and non-members, day-of registration is available only if spots remain, and registration fees are nonrefundable. Prizes and ribbons are awarded across overall, masters, and age group categories. The event is organized by a volunteer non-profit running club.
