Lake Max Triathlon and Duathlon : Culver, IN
The Lake Max Triathlon and Duathlon is a multi-event race held in August at the Campus of Culver Academies, 1300 Academy Rd., Culver, IN 46511. The event includes adult individual races, a team triathlon, an adult duathlon, and children’s triathlon races for several age groups. The adult events are USAT sanctioned. Pre-registration is required and there is no race-day registration or refunds.
Race distances and age categories
- Adult Triathlon: 400 meter swim, 11 mile bike, 5K run
- Adult Duathlon: 1600 meter run, 11 mile bike, 5K run
- Team Triathlon: teams of 2 or 3 (team format noted)
- Kids 5-7: 50 meter swim, 1 mile bike, 1/2 mile run
- Kids 8-10: 75 meter swim, 1 mile bike, 1 mile run
- Kids 11-12: 75 meter swim, 1 mile bike, 1 mile run
Registration, safety and amenities
Entry fees vary by event and by registration date; shirts are guaranteed for registrations made by the stated shirt deadline. Safety provisions include multiple water safety personnel, with state police dive team members and lifeguards on the lake. Race rules require helmets for the bike portion and prohibit headphones. Amenities listed include event shirts, a chef-prepared meal, a beer garden, massage therapy, fitness vendors, and a live band.
