Brisbane Road Runners Club Dash n Splash at Centenary Aquatic Centre
This event combines a road run with a pool swim and takes place at the Centenary Aquatic Centre in Spring Hill. Adults complete a run of 5 km on a measured course around the pool area, followed by a 100 m swim; juniors complete 2.5 km and 50 m respectively. The run is staged as laps: adults run 2 x 2.5 km laps and juniors run 1 x 2.5 km lap while the swim uses pool laps.
Pre-race registration is required online and closes at 7pm on the Saturday before the event; there are no late entries and no registration on race morning. Visitors pay an entry fee of $12; members register under the club arrangements. The event includes a BBQ breakfast beside the pool and presentation of the club’s annual awards. Prizes are awarded to the first male and first female adult competitors to exit the pool after completing both run and swim. Non-swimmers may run and watch the pool activities from the sidelines.
The club notes that the usual timing system will not be used for this event and club timing bibs are not required. There is street parking available around the pool complex.
