Brisbane Road Runners Club : Dash n Splash event
This Dash n Splash combines a road run with a short pool swim and is held at the Centenary Aquatic Centre in Spring Hill. Adults complete a 5 km run as two laps of 2.5 km plus a 100 m swim (two 50 m laps). Juniors run one 2.5 km lap and swim 50 m (one pool lap).
Events are open to club members and visitors; visitors pay a $12 entry fee and members do not pay an entry fee for this event. All participants must pre-register online by 7pm on the specified Saturday before the event; there are no race morning entries for this event. A pre-race briefing is held at the rotunda behind the pool complex.
The event includes a BBQ breakfast beside the pool and presentation of club awards for champion and age groups. Prizes are awarded to the first male and first female adults to exit the pool; winners must complete both the run and the swim. Non-swimmers may participate in the run and watch pool activities from the sidelines. The standard electronic timing system and club timing bibs are not used for this event.
