Lace Up for the Library Presented by the Patti J. Nelson Foundation
Lace Up for the Library is a community running event held on June 7, 2026, in Evans City, Pennsylvania at 400 Old Rt 68. The event features a 5K course through the rolling hills of Old Route 68, Needlepoint, and Dufford Roads and a separate 1 mile route described as picturesque and suitable for a range of ages.

The event includes a post-race celebration with an award ceremony, raffle baskets, a 50/50 drawing, lunch, and a community gathering. Awards are planned for the top three male and top three female finishers and for the top three finishers in each age group. The top male and female finishers will have their names engraved on the Patti J. Nelson Foundation Trophy. Every participant is eligible for a door prize.
Registration opens February 21, 2026, and closes March 14, 2026, with listed registration fees of $30 for the 5K and $20 for the 1 mile. The Patti J. Nelson Foundation supports the Evans City Public Library, which provides services such as high-speed internet, story hours, community events, and workshops.
