Laborious Labor Day 10/5 Miler
The Laborious Labor Day race takes place on September 2, 2024 at Ghiloni Park, 239 Concord Rd., Marlboro, MA. It is a long running club tradition with no entry fee; participants are asked to bring 15 canned or nonperishable goods to support the Hudson Food Pantry.
Distances:
- 10 mile
- 5 mile open to walkers and runners
The 10 mile and 5 mile courses run simultaneously and conclude at the finish line in Ghiloni Park. The routes roll through the hills of Marlborough and Hudson and are supported by course marshals. Photographers cover the course and post race refreshments are available. The national anthem is performed by a club member and prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each race, donated by a local running store.
The 5 mile race is explicitly open to walkers and runners and is noted as an option for those training for the Tough Ten Turkey Trot in November. A 2 hour 15 minute time limit applies to the 10 mile race; runners who have not reached the 10/5 split after 40 minutes will be directed to the 5 mile finish by volunteers. The event emphasizes food collection and community awareness for the Marlborough Food Pantry and includes recognition for the club with the most runners and the fastest overall pace.
