About the race
The Labor Day Trail Race in Charlotte, NC is scheduled for September 4, 2027. The event features trail running options and offers two course distances.
- 5K (ascent +258 ft.)
- 15K (ascent +725 ft.)
Packet pick-up is held the day before at the South Conference Center. Pre-registration pricing and day-of registration are listed separately for each distance; pre-registration deadlines apply. Race shirts are guaranteed only to those who pre-register on or before August 24, 2026.
Participants must sign the Whitewater Center Assumption of Risk Agreement before participating; the waiver may be printed and brought to packet pick-up or completed on site and is not included in the online registration form. Race registration is non-refundable.
Trail policies note that trails remain open to other runners, hikers and bikers, and participants should communicate when passing other users. No e-bikes or any form of powered transportation are permitted in the race series. Events are scheduled to proceed rain or shine, and the Whitewater Center may alter, reschedule, or cancel events. Parking fees apply at the Whitewater Center; annual parking passes are available and oversized parking carries a separate fee. The center does not conduct trail rescues; participants must call 911 for emergency services.
Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in both distances across these age groups: 14 and under, 15-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, and 61 and better. Results from previous years are published. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
