About the race
The Ditch Witch La Llorona Run is a community running event held in October in Albuquerque, New Mexico, along the cottonwood-lined trails of the Bosque. The event is set at Sagebrush Community Church, 6440 Coors Blvd. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120, and draws on the La Llorona folklore as part of its theme.
Race options include:
- 10K
- 5K Run/Walk
- Kids K
- La Llorona Twilight 5K at dusk
Participants receive an event t-shirt and a finisher medal. The event provides a well-stocked finish table, refreshments at the finish line, and water and Powerade stations along the course. Professional timing is used with a disposable bib tag, and free race photos are available after the event. Age-group and overall awards are presented, and the schedule includes a costume contest and La Llorona storytelling.
The La Llorona Double Dare Challenge lets runners already entered in the 10K or 5K add the Twilight 5K for an additional fee; entrants in both races receive separate bibs and official timing for each race.
Packet pickup and late registration are available at Fleet Feet Sports, North Towne Plaza in Albuquerque on the Saturday before the event from 11:00 to 15:00. Out-of-town participants may pick up packets on race day during the designated packet pickup window.
