La Course du Vieux Moulin
La Course du Vieux Moulin takes place in Grondines at Terrain de la Fabrique and Chemin des Ancêtres along the St‑Laurent River. The site includes the old moulin banal dating from 1674 and the remains of the former village core in the Grondines sector.
The course is described as mostly flat, about 90% flat and 10% slight incline, and is organized around a 2.5 km loop. The layout is presented as secure and suitable for spectators and participants of all ages.
The race schedule is planned to encourage participation by family members and the event ends with a children’s race. A portion of the proceeds is reinvested in the community for park and green space improvements and for the purchase of sports and recreational equipment. Over the first nine editions, organizers donated nearly 19 500$ to various organizations working in sport, recreation and healthy lifestyle promotion. Participation generates local, tangible benefits while promoting physical activity.
