L.A. Chinatown Firecracker 10K
The L.A. Chinatown Firecracker is a multi-day community event celebrating the Lunar New Year. The 2026 event marks the 48th anniversary and welcomes the Year of the Horse. The event is organized by a non-profit, volunteer-run committee that reinvests proceeds into local elementary schools and community programs.
The weekend features several events across two days in late February and early March. The main running events, including a timed 10K Run/Walk, take place on a Sunday. The start line for these events is at 943 N. Broadway in Los Angeles, California.
All registered participants receive several items. These include a custom Lunar New Year t-shirt, a finisher medal, a goodie bag, and a race bib. Post-event refreshments and hydration stations are provided on the course. A free bag check-in service is available for Metro riders. There is also a festival area with vendor booths.
The event is USATF-sanctioned. A course map is available. Frequently asked questions about the run are answered on the event page, confirming details like on-course water stations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
