Event overview
The L.A. Chinatown Firecracker weekend takes place February 28 - March 1, 2026 in Los Angeles, CA 90012. The event is organized by L.A. Chinatown Firecracker Run Committee, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit run by volunteers. The start line is at 943 N. Broadway. The 5K and 10K courses are USATF sanctioned. Schedule and distances
Events span two days with bike rides and a dog walk on Saturday and run/walk and kiddie events on Sunday. Distances and event types include:
- 5K Run/Walk (timed)
- 10K Run/Walk (timed)
- Kiddie Run (open to ages 12 and under)
- PAW'er Dog Walk
- 20 Mile Fun Bike Ride
- 50 Mile Half Century Bike Ride
Virtual versions of most events are offered; virtual registrations must be completed by February 18, 2026. Personalized race bibs require registration by January 29, 2026.
Participant services and amenities
All registered participants receive a custom Lunar New Year T-shirt, finisher medal, goodie bag, and race bib. Additional provisions include water stations on the 5K and 10K courses, two rest areas on the bike routes, refreshments at the finish area, free chow mein on Saturday from 10am-2pm, and one free beer for participants 21 and older. Free bag check is provided for bike participants and for 5K/10K participants who use Metro and show a valid Metro pass. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
