Event overview
La Carrera 5k takes place on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Stoner Boat Launch in Shreveport, LA 71101. The event program includes a 5k, a 1/2 Mile Fun Run, and a Sleep In Supporter option.
Registration and packet pick-up
Standard registration is $25 through December 27, 2025 and includes a T-shirt. Prices increase after December 27: late registration is $30 from December 28 through January 9, and $35 on race day. Race-day registration opens at 7:15 am at the race site. Packet pick-up is available at Sportspectrum on Thursday, January 8 (12:00 pm-6:00 pm) and Friday, January 9 (10:00 am-5:30 pm); packets may also be picked up at the race site on race day beginning at 7:15 am. Organizers note that no T-shirts are guaranteed for registrants after December 27, 2025.
Awards, age groups and course rules
Overall male and female finishers in the 5k receive a $100 cash prize. First and second place age group winners receive a medal. Age groups are: 14-under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. A post-race party will include refreshments and awards. Strollers, wagons, baby joggers and other hand-pushed or pulled vehicles are allowed on the course only at a walk pace. In-line skates and roller skates are not allowed on the run course.
