Kukini Keaahala 5K
Kukini Keaahala 5K is a community running event held on May 23, 2026 on the campus of Windward Community College in Kāneʻohe, HI (45-720 Keaahala Rd.). The event is presented by Hui Mākua o Pūʻōhala and Ke Kula Kaiapuni ʻo Pūʻōhala as the first annual edition.
The event supports Pūʻōhala students and programs. All proceeds will benefit students at Puʻōhala, including both the kaiapuni and English programs for grades M-12. The race also marks the first graduating class of seniors from the Castle High School Kaiapuni Academy and connects with the school’s focus on student leadership, health, and wellness.
Racing categories include Kūpuna (Senior 55+), Mākua ʻElua (Age 36-54), Mākua ʻEkahi (Age 19-35), Haumāna Kiʻekiʻe (High School), Haumāna Waena (Middle School), Haumāna Haʻahaʻa (Elementary School), and Kamaiki (Pre-School & younger). Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in each division.
Registration details: registration opens January 30, 2026; most divisions list a registration fee of $30. Haumāna Haʻahaʻa registration closes March 31, 2026; other divisions have a later registration close date. During registration participants may view and purchase a race tee shirt for $20. Parents may escort registered children without registering separately. Strollers and walkers are welcome; only the person pushing a stroller must register and the stroller occupant does not need to register.
Packet pickup is available at Ke Kula Kaiapuni ʻo Pūʻōhala (45-233 Kulauli Street, Kaneohe, HI) and on race day at Windward Community College. After the race refreshments will be provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
