Kukini Keaahala 5K
Kukini Keaahala 5K is an inaugural community road race held on May 23, 2026 at Windward Community College in Kāneʻohe. The event is sponsored by Hui Mākua o Pūʻōhala and Ke Kula Kaiapuni ʻo Pūʻōhala and marks the first graduating class of seniors from the Castle High School Kaiapuni Academy.
The race is a 5-kilometer event with divisions by age and school level, including Kūpuna (Senior 55+), Mākua (Adult), Haumāna Kiʻekiʻe (High School), Haumāna Waena (Middle School), and Haumāna Haʻahaʻa (Elementary School). Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in each division.
Registration opens January 30, 2026 and closes April 1, 2026; the listed registration fee is $30. Packet pickup is available the week before the race at Ke Kula Kaiapuni ʻo Pūʻōhala and also on race day at Windward Community College. During registration participants may view and purchase the race T shirt for $20.
Parents may escort registered children without registering separately. Strollers and walkers are welcome and are asked to start toward the back; only the person pushing a stroller needs to register and the stroller occupant does not need to register. Proceeds from the race will support Pūʻōhala students and programs that promote student wellness. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
