Ku'ikahi 2027 (Tentative)
Ku’ikahi is a community running event organized by Aloha Racing at Ala Moana Regional Park, including the man-made peninsula known as Magic Island. The course begins near the park keyhole and tours Magic Island before continuing on a straightaway on the mauka side of the park.
Distances offered:
- 5K One lap of the course
- 10K Two laps of the course
Course surfaces are a mix of asphalt and concrete with adjacent soft-surface sections: approximately 81% asphalt, 19% concrete, and 67% adjacent soft surface. Aid stations are placed about every mile and provide water, electrolytes, first aid, and occasional energy products. Courses are measured multiple times before race day and electronic timing with disposable chips is used. Professional photographers are positioned on course and at the finish with free downloads provided.
Included amenities vary by registration but commonly include finisher medals, cooling towels, gear check, porta-potties, medical support, and electronic results accessible via QR code on bibs. Post-race meal options such as breakfast burritos and chocolate milk are available as add-ons, with vegetarian choices noted. Awards go three deep overall and in ten-year age groups from 0 to 99. The event benefits Helping Hands Hawai‘i, an organization that provides financial and material assistance, nutritional access, and fiscal management support to local families.
