Krug Castle Challenge
Krug Castle Challenge takes place October 10 and 11, 2026 at Krug Park in Saint Joseph, Missouri. The event program includes a Measly Mile, a Kinda 5k, a 10K, a full lap-based endurance Challenge and a Beer Mile Dash connected with River Bluff Brewing for participants aged 21 and over.
The Challenge uses a looped course. Each lap must be completed within 22 minutes before the timer resets for the next lap. Participants who complete distances beyond the 10K receive a Challenge medal. Medals are also available for the Kinda 5k and the 10K for those who register for those distances. Timing will not be offered for the 1 mile, 5k or 10k events.
Winners will be identified in three categories labeled King, Queen and Nonbinary; the last person standing in each category will be crowned. The Beer Mile Dash includes running a mile, collecting a token and receiving a beer at River Bluff Brewing for those 21 and older.
Parking is available in the lower southwest side lot using the St. Joseph Avenue access and via street parking. The main park entry will be closed and parking is limited on a first come first serve basis. Participants are advised to bring a headlamp or body lamp as there is some course lighting and decorative lights but areas may be dim.
Eighty percent of proceeds support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and twenty percent support Knot-4-Profit Collaborations. The organizer notes limited swag bag and medal supplies for late registrations and asks late registrants to accept available medal options.
