Krug Castle Challenge
The Krug Castle Challenge is a multi-distance running event held at Krug Park on 10/10/2026 to 10/11/2026. The event offers looped laps around the park with a set time limit per lap.
Available distances
- Krug Castle Kinda 5k: 3.6 Miles
- Krug Castle 10K: 6.1 Miles
- Krug Castle Challenge: extended lap challenge with cumulative laps
Challenge format: participants complete repeated laps of the park. Each lap must be completed within 20 minutes before the timer resets for the next lap. Participants who exceed the 10K distance receive a challenge medal.
Medals and timing: runners who register specifically for the Kinda 5k or 10K receive the commemorative medal for that distance. Challenge medals are awarded for distances beyond the 10K. Due to course terrain and the fundraising format, no official timing will be provided for the 1 mile, 5k, or 10k distances.
Lighting and gear: there is some course lighting and decorative lights. Participants who expect to run in the dark are advised to bring a headlamp or other personal lighted device.
Logistics: park in the lower southwest side lot with access from Saint Joseph Avenue or use street parking. Parking is limited and available first come first serve; the main park entry will be closed. Carpooling is recommended.
Beneficiaries: 80% of proceeds support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and 20% support Knot-4-Profit Collaborations. Costumes are encouraged and the event includes recognition for top finishers by category. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
