Show Me Your Free State Marathon and Ultra : St. Joseph, Missouri
The Show Me Your Free State Marathon & Ultra offers multiple distances on a 25-mile loop beginning and ending near Rosecrans Memorial Airport in St. Joseph, Missouri. The course starts and finishes in Missouri while most of the route runs through Kansas, following the Missouri River, traversing the Gladden Bottoms, and skirting the Loess Hills. Elevation gain is about 138 feet per loop.

Surface and safety details include roughly 10 miles paved road, about 1 mile dirt road through a cornfield that may be muddy after rain, and the remainder gravel or crushed limestone levee trail. US Highway 36 in Wathena is a monitored major crossing. Manned aid stations are located roughly every 6 to 7 miles and provide water, sports drink, salty snacks, fruit, sweets, and warm food after sunset; unmanned stations offer water and limited snacks. First aid supplies are available at stations.
