Show Me Your Free State Marathon and Ultra
The Show Me Your Free State Marathon and Ultra takes place in St. Joseph, Missouri on October 24–25, 2026. Benton High School presents the event and proceeds support Benton High School Cross Country and Track & Field programs.
Runners can choose from multiple distances:
- 100 miles
- 50 miles
- 50 km
- Marathon 26.2 miles
- Half marathon 13.1 miles
The course is a 25 mile loop that starts and finishes at Rosecrans Memorial Airport and is run in a counter-clockwise direction. Participants on the ultra distances repeat the loop: the 100 mile field completes four laps and the 50 mile field completes two laps. The 50 km course is one full lap with a turnaround at the 3 mile mark on the second lap. Marathon runners follow a similar plan with a turnaround at 0.6 miles. Half marathon runners proceed 6.55 miles to a turnaround and return to the start.
Aid stations are manned and volunteers will manually log times to provide unofficial live updates for the 100 mile, 50 mile, 50 km, and marathon distances.
