About the race
The Round the Airport / Anniversary Run is a charity running event based at the Landings Golf Course at Kingston’s Norman Rogers Airport. The event includes these distances:
- 10K
- Kids 1-Miler
The 10K has an entry fee of $40; the first 150 10K registrants receive a long-sleeve tech racing shirt. The Kids 1-Miler entry fee is $7 and has a limited number of spots. The event provides tech shirts, awards, top finisher medals for both races, top three age-category medals, top masters medals, and a middle-of-the-pack prize. The Kids 1-Miler awards top three female and top three male athletes and provides ribbons for all participants. The 10K awards top three female and top three male athletes and top three prizes in age categories (10-and-under, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+). Series points for this race are 100 overall and 20 for age category.
The course descriptions note that both events start at the Landings Golf Course. The Kids XC 1-Mile follows a mix of paths, grass between trees near the airport entrance, marked footpaths and a short loop through taller vegetation before returning the same way. The 10K follows roads and mixed-use paths around Front Road, Bayridge Drive, Coverdale Road, Lemoine Point and shoreline paths, then returns into the airport and finishes on a final footpath stretch.
