Krayzie Chicks Frontyard Ultra
The event is a women only Frontyard Ultra held at McLeans Forest, McLeans Island Road, Christchurch on 16 January 2027. Runners complete repeated 6 km laps with about 10 to 20 m of ascent per lap. Each lap must be finished within the hour to count and each new lap starts exactly one hour after the previous start. The race ends when one runner completes one more lap than anyone else; that runner is the winner and all others are recorded as DNF unless no solo final lap is completed, in which case there is no winner.
The format allows recovery time between laps; aid is permitted only in the Event Village during the time remaining after a lap is finished and before the next lap start. Runners may not receive personal aid while on course. Portable toilets are located at approximately 2.5 km and 5 km on the loop. Use of noise blocking headphones is prohibited and a quiet zone will be in force between dusk and dawn with restrictions on music and loud cheering.
The event is self supported. Entrants must provide their own food and fluids and keep required gear at their aid area, including thermal layers, a seam sealed jacket, spare socks, sunhat and towel. Each entrant will receive a 3 m by 4 m space in the Event Village; there is no power or running water available there. Entries open 14 February 2026.
