Kokoda Challenge - Gold Coast
The Kokoda Challenge on the Gold Coast is a team only endurance hike through the Gold Coast Hinterland with three distance options. The event is held in the hinterland area around Mudgeeraba and finishes at Nerang Velodrome. Participation supports the Kokoda Youth Foundation through required team fundraising.

- 30 km
- 48 km
- 96 km
Each distance has specific entry categories and requirements. The 30 km event lists team categories for two, three and four person teams plus a school team option. The 48 km event lists three and four person teams and a school team option. The 96 km event lists a four person team option and a school team option. Solo entries are not permitted.
Course details include multiple checkpoints and designated support crew checkpoints for longer distances. The 30 km course has three checkpoints and no support crew checkpoint and a 12 hour completion window. The 48 km course has seven checkpoints, one support crew checkpoint and a 20 hour completion window. The 96 km course has 13 checkpoints, four support crew checkpoints and a 39 hour completion window. Minimum ages vary by distance.
Terrain passes through steep climbs, descents, dense forest trails, creek crossings and significant elevation gain. Fundraising minimums and registration fees apply per team category, and each team must meet a minimum fundraising target before event day.
