Kokanee Trail Runs - South Lake Tahoe
The Kokanee Trail Runs take place on October 4, 2026 in South Lake Tahoe, CA, organized by Tahoe Mountain Milers. The event features multiple trail distances on and around Fallen Leaf Lake and Tahoe Mountain, with start and finish located at South Tahoe High School and parking available in high school lots. Early packet pickup is offered Saturday at Camp Richardson Resort's Oktoberfest (1900 Jameson Beach Rd).
Race distances include:
- 1/2 Marathon : approximately 12.63 miles, 1,387 feet of gain
- 10K : approximately 6.54 miles, 618 feet of gain
- 5K : approximately 3.4 miles, 263 feet of gain
- Tadpole Trot : half-mile noncompetitive youth race
Aid station details are specified by distance: the 5K has a water-only station, the 10K has two stations, and the half marathon has three stations; on-course offerings include water, Tailwind, and snacks, with Rapid Hydration at the finish. Tailwind is the official on-course drink. Restrooms and race day packet pickup are located at the north end of the football field.
The event is RRCA sanctioned. Shirts are made from 100% recycled materials; adult shirts are long sleeve while youth shirts are short sleeve, and sizes ordered after August 16 are not guaranteed. Entry fees vary by race and date; registration closes October 1, 2026. Proceeds for 2026 benefit Nevada Humane Society and Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe.
