Knockmealdown Uphill
Knockmealdown Uphill is a mountain running event held on Wednesday 13 May 2026. The race runs from Bay Lough car park to the top of Knockmealdown over open mountain rough terrain. The course distance is 4.50 km with a listed climb of 536 m. The route is not marked and GPS use is not allowed. The event is rated 6 (2,2,2) by the organiser.
Entries open on 11 May 2026 and close on 13 May 2026. Entry fees are €7 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s. Entry is limited to 250 participants. Registration takes place at Bay Lough car park.
A mandatory Level B kit must be carried or available as specified by the organiser. Required items include a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, a charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag equivalent. The final kit to be carried may be confirmed on the day depending on conditions. Failure to have the required items may lead to denial of entry or disqualification and random kit checks may be carried out.
