Knockmealdown Uphill
Knockmealdown Uphill is a mountain race in County Waterford held on Wednesday 13 May 2026. The course runs from Bay Lough to the summit of Knockmealdown across open mountain rough terrain and is a direct uphill route.
The distance is approximately 4.74 km with a climb of 535 m. The route is not marked and the use of GPS devices is not permitted. The event is listed with a difficulty rating of 6 (2,2,2) and is part of the Munster Uphill League.
Entry fees are stated as €7 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s. Mandatory kit is Level B Standard and includes a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, a whistle, a charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored, and a foil blanket, bivvy bag, or equivalent. Runners must be able to carry the kit; the final kit to be carried during the race will be confirmed on the day based on conditions. Failure to have the required items may result in denied entry or disqualification, and random checks may be carried out.
