Knight Run - Buena Vista
The Knight Run is part of Southern Virginia University Homecoming weekend in Buena Vista, Virginia. The event combines a community road race with family-focused activities and a post-race celebration featuring food trucks, live music, and yard games near Knight Stadium. Attendees can also watch the SVU Knights football team later the same day.
The event program includes these distances:
- 5K road race
- 800 m kids obstacle course
Registration opens June 15, 2026. Registration for the 5K closes September 30, 2026; registration for the kids obstacle course closes on October 31, 2026. Early bird pricing for the 5K is $30 through September 30, 2026, with a higher price after that date. The kids obstacle course is offered at no fee.
Awards are presented for overall finishers, for top men and women, and for Junior Knights under 10. A multi-category costume contest runs alongside the event with awards such as fastest person in costume, best group costume, scariest costume, most creative, funniest, best school spirit, best dressed, and best dressed kid.
