Event and format
KNC 16 - Folkestone Urban is an urban orienteering race held on Thursday 5th February. The course covers the town centre and harbour area of Folkestone and includes complex streets, paths and hills to navigate. The event uses a 60 minute score format.
Location and entry
The meeting point and parking is at Folkestone Harbour Arm, postcode CT20 1QH. Entry is by online advance registration only; entries open on 30th January. New participants can request additional help via the entry form.
Fees and practical information
Entry fees are:
- Senior (member/non-member): £7.00 / £10.00
- Junior: £4.00
- Group (member/non-member): £12.00 / £15.00
Juniors are defined as under 21 on 31 December. A basic non-SIAC dibber (electronic timing device) is available for loan. Apres-O is at Brewing Brothers Beachside near the car park; food (pizza) is ordered on the night before the race and prepared in the restaurant. Results will not be on display at the event; split prints are available and final results are published on the organiser’s website. Competitors take part at their own risk; if there is a relevant medical condition, a medical form must be completed and handed to the organiser in a sealed envelope.
