Kismet Cliff Run
The Kismet Cliff Run takes place September 13, 2026, at Echo Lake State Park, 68 Echo Lake Road, Conway, New Hampshire. The event offers two mountain trail distances:
- Half Marathon (Beast of the East)
- Little Beast five mile
The Little Beast five mile course follows Cathedral and Whitehorse Ledges, moving from twisting double track to steep, technical single track with two main ascents and granite descents near Echo Lake. The half marathon uses the Little Beast route and adds a loop over North Moat Mountain and the Red Ridge granite, including a 2,000 foot climb and more than 4,300 feet of total vertical gain. Both routes pass through exposed terrain with long views of the White Mountains and surrounding wilderness.
Organizers list aid stations at 2.1 miles, 4.1 miles, and a water only station at mile 9.9. Trekking poles are allowed only for half marathon runners and may be used after the 4.1 mile aid station. There are no official cutoff times and extraction options are limited due to remote terrain. Entry fees are stated as $89 for the half marathon and $69 for the five mile race. The event is part of the Merrell Skyrunner USA Series and is noted as host of the 2023, 2025 and 2026 US Classic Mountain Running Championships. Dogs are not allowed at the state park.
