The event is a 12.5k road race held near Kirkintilloch on quiet country roads. The course is described as hilly and is accurately measured. The race starts and finishes outside Gartconner Primary School, Gartshore Road, Kirkintilloch, and forms part of the Kirkintilloch Festival of Running, which also includes a half marathon and a 5k fun run on the same day. Entrants may only enter one event.
Entry, logistics and prizes
Entry is not available on the day and is limited to 300 places. Entry fees are £13 for SA-registered runners and £15 for others, with discounted pricing listed until 13 Feb 2026 for affiliated members. A service fee applies to each sign-up.
Number pick up and event facilities are provided outside Gartconner Primary School at the club gazebo; facilities are limited to portable toilets and there are no showers or access to the school. The race is chip timed and chips are collected with race numbers. Prizes (cash or vouchers) are awarded to the first three male and female finishers and age-group prizes are awarded; prizes are sent by post. All finishers receive a Festival of Running memento. Results will be posted on the club website, the race Facebook page, and SAL/Power of 10 websites. The event is SA licensed and held under UKA rules.
