Kinsley Ray 5k Run and Walk
The Kinsley Ray 5k Run and Walk is an annual road event held in July at the Ellsworth YMCA Wiggins Center, 238 State Street, Ellsworth. The event is presented in memory of Kinsley Ray Archer, who died of acute myeloid leukemia at four months of age.
A portion of event proceeds is donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of New England and to the Kinsley Ray Camp Discovery scholarship for DEFY Camp Discovery on Webb Pond. The event program has included a timed 5K race and a separate kids fun run.
Event fees reported in past listings include pre-registration and race-day options for the 5K and a low-cost entry for the children’s run. Online registration and a printable registration form have been used for entries in previous years. The venue’s gymnasium has been used for race-day registration and participant check-in.
