King Street Cats Easter 5k & 12k
This event offers two distances around South Run RecCenter in Springfield, VA on April 5. Points scored at the event count toward the Year‑Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series, and toward the Spring Series. The race benefits the King Street Cats charity and a virtual race option is available.

The course follows a paved path and is described as fairly flat; the 12k includes some hills on the backside. Water stations are provided: four on the 12k and one on the 5k, with Gatorade at some locations. Results are chip timed and published live online; final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race.
Registered runners receive a finisher’s medal and a technical Drifit event shirt; shirts are guaranteed for entries completed before March 25. Registration fees vary by distance and increase after March 15 with an additional race morning increase noted. Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is offered though shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for late registrants.
Awards include top three men and women overall and first and second place male and female in standard age categories. The organizer posts event photos and runs a social media selection that rewards a chosen post each Tuesday. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
