Event overview
The King Street Cats Easter event includes a 5k and a 12k held at South Run RecCenter in Springfield, VA on April 5, 2026. Points from the event count toward the organizer’s Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series and toward the Spring Series. A virtual run option is offered. The race benefits King Street Cats. Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (DriFit) event shirt, and chip timing.

The route is on a paved path and described as fairly flat; the 12k includes some hills on the backside. Course maps and elevation details are provided by the organizer. Water stations: four on the 12k at approximately mile markers 1.55, 2.4, 5, and 5.9; one on the 5k at approximately mile 1.55. Gatorade will be available at some stations. Portable restrooms are located near the start/finish area. Packet pickup is available at the event; participants are advised to allow time to check in. Live race results and final series points are posted after the race. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second in listed age categories; overall top-three finishers are not eligible for age-group awards.
Registration fees increase after March 15 and rise by $5 on race morning. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations received before March 25. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
