Austin State University (SFA) and commissionee of the SFA Army ROTC. All proceeds contribute to the Military Science Excellence Fund, which supports a scholarship program established in the memorial's name.
The event offers the following distance:
- 5 km
Course and Surface
The 5 km course is located on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University. The route features primarily flat, paved road surfaces and sidewalks as it circles the campus. Participants will also traverse an unpaved hiking trail. While the trail section is accessible to leisure bicycles and jogging strollers, it may not be suitable for strollers designed exclusively for paved surfaces.
Facilities and Logistics
The event headquarters is located at the SFA Intramural Field on East Starr Avenue, situated across from the Student Recreation Center. Free parking is available in the lot adjacent to the fields and in the nearby parking garage. On-site facilities include restrooms located near the intramural field.
Participants are responsible for securing their personal belongings in their vehicles, as bag check services are not provided. The race utilizes photo-finishes for tracking results rather than a chip timing system. Results and event photographs are typically made available online following the conclusion of the event.
