Kids in Capes 5K and Fun Run
The Callahan Murphy Hare Foundation presents the fifth annual Kids in Capes 5K and Fun Run at Thompson Park in Upper Arlington, Ohio. The event raises funds for pediatric cancer research grants and includes a mostly flat 5K route through North Upper Arlington that begins and ends at Thompson Park. A shorter kids dash and a 1 mile option take place inside Thompson Park.
Race registration includes a race shirt, a swag bag, coffee, water, a banana and access to post race activities. Post race activities and the family area feature bounce houses, yard games, an obstacle course, cape and mask decorating, face painting, an interactive community art project, a silent auction and a bake sale. Children aged five and under who are not registered with a timed bib may be registered for post race activities only.
Prizes for the 5K overall finishers are Fleet Feet gift cards for the top three: $100 for first, $75 for second and $50 for third. Costs are listed from $5 to $45 and a virtual option is available. Pre race packet pickup is scheduled for the day before the event at Fleet Feet, 1344 W Lane Ave, Columbus, OH. Race registrations are non refundable and non transferable.
