Kids in Capes 5K and Fun Run
This is the fifth annual Kids in Capes 5K and Fun Run held in Upper Arlington, Ohio on 09/27/2026 at Thompson Park / North Shelter House, 4250 Woodbridge Rd. The event benefits pediatric cancer research grants administered by the Callahan Murphy Hare Foundation.
Distances offered include:
- 5K (in person and virtual)
- 1 Mile fun run
- Kids 5 and under fun run (untimed participation)
The 5K follows a mostly flat route through North Upper Arlington and begins and ends at Thompson Park. A shorter kids dash and a one mile option take place within Thompson Park. Post-race activities include bounce houses, yard games, an obstacle course, cape and mask decorating, face painting, an interactive community art project, a silent auction, and a bake sale.
Participant items for in-person registrations include a race shirt and swag bag, plus coffee, water, and a banana. Top three overall finishers in the 5K receive Fleet Feet gift cards ($50, $75, $100). Strollers and wagons are allowed on the route; bikes and scooters are not permitted. Walking is encouraged for those who prefer it.
