Kicking Butt 5K Run/Walk

The Kicking Butt 5K Run/Walk is an annual event held at Waterfront Park in downtown Louisville, Kentucky. The event focuses on spreading awareness about colorectal cancer and supporting survivors. The course is a scenic, rectangular route set entirely on paved and concrete surfaces along the Ohio River near the Big Four Bridge.

Participants can choose from several event options:

  • 5K Run/Walk
  • 1 Mile Walk
  • FREE Kid's Dash
  • Virtual Runner/Walker

The 5K route features chip timing provided by RaceRise and includes three water stops. A lead bike escort guides the front of the pack, and all turns are marked with arrow signs. The Kid's Dash is a 1/4 mile distance intended for children aged 9 and under; while it is not timed, all participants receive a medal.

Race features include commemorative shirts, free race photography, and a "Healthy Village" area. The event also includes a "Daisy" award for the best-dressed dog. Awards are presented to top overall finishers and various age group leaders in the 5K, as well as to top fundraising teams. Packet pickup is available the day before the event at a local office and on the morning of the race at the park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
