Overview
The Kicking Butt 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Waterfront Park at the Big Four Bridge in Louisville, KY. The event aims to raise awareness about early age onset colon and rectal cancer and encourages participants to gather family history and talk with their doctor if they have symptoms. Registration opens May 1, 2026.

The 5K route is a long rectangle on the grounds of Waterfront Park. The entire route is on concrete or paved surfaces and includes three water stops along the 3.1 mile course. The start and finish are at the same location near the Big Four Bridge. A lead bike escort will guide runners and turns will be marked with arrow yard signs.
Features and logistics
Race features include commemorative shirts, chip timing by RaceRise, free race photos, team participation, overall and age-group awards, and prizes for top fundraising teams. The Kid's Dash offers participation medals without timing or awards. There is a "Daisy" best dressed dog award. Packet pickup is available the day before at the Prevention Project office (1640 Lyndon Farm Ct #108, Louisville, KY 40223) and on race morning at Waterfront Park.
