Kicking Butt 5K Run/Walk
Kicking Butt is a fundraising event on August 29, 2026 at Waterfront Park at the Big Four Bridge in Louisville, Kentucky. The event supports colon cancer awareness and related fundraising efforts.
The event program includes multiple options:
- 5K Run/Walk, 3.1 miles, chip timed on paved park trails.
- 1 Mile Walk, untimed on paved surfaces, no awards.
- FREE Kid's Dash, 400 yards, for children ages 9 and under.
- Virtual Runner/Walker, 3.1 miles, with mailed race packets unless picked up locally.
The 5K awards overall top three men and women and top three in multiple age groups. Walkers, strollers, and dogs on fixed length leashes are welcomed on course. The Kid's Dash is untimed and provides participation medals but no shirts, bibs, or awards for finish places. Race features include commemorative shirts, family-friendly games, a best-dressed superhero dog award called "Daisy", free race photos, team entries, and prizes for top fundraising teams. Chip timing is provided by RaceRise.
Registration opens May 4, 2026; in-person registration closes June 30, 2026, and virtual registration closes August 28, 2026. Event fees listed by the organizer are $30 for the 5K, $30 for the 1 Mile Walk, $0 for the Kid's Dash, and $35 for the virtual option.
