KGNS Community Dash 5K Run and Walk
The KGNS Community Dash is a 5K run and walk held at North Central Park in Laredo on October 10, 2026. The event is presented as a community, family-oriented activity with open registration available online.
The course will be marked with cones and explained on race day. Participants age 4 and up may enter; children 6 and under must have adult supervision on the course. Strollers are permitted but should start toward the back of the field. Pets are not allowed on the course; exceptions for certified service animals will be made on a case-by-case basis.
Free parking is available inside the park. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race at Main Event Mall Del Norte, where shirts will be distributed to the first 100 participants; requested sizes are not guaranteed. Onsite race day registration is also available.
Timing for the 5K is provided by Swift Timing using disposable timing chips attached to race bibs at packet pickup. Overall awards are based on gun or chip time and age group awards are based on chip time. Age groups include 10 and under, 11 to 14, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60 and over.
