About the race

The Keynsham Dandy is a 12.5 miles trail race starting in Keynsham between Bath and Bristol and organised by Town and Country Harriers. The route follows the revived Compton Dandy line and runs alongside rivers, through rolling agricultural land and woods, and includes at least two stream crossings that may be wet and muddy.

The course has obvious slip and trip hazards and may pass near livestock; runners are asked to take care and to WALK when passing close to cattle. Two water stations are provided on the course and one at the finish; the event is cup-less so runners should bring a cup or refillable bottle. A bag drop is available at the start line; marshals will supervise but the organisers do not accept liability for loss.

Entries are limited to a maximum of 200 competitors including 40 canicross places. There are no entries on the day. Canicross runners must select the canicross option when entering, hold public liability insurance for the dog, keep the dog on a lead using a CaniX regulation waistbelt, clean up after the dog, and run with one dog per runner.

All finishers receive a medal. Prizes are awarded in Open and Female categories plus veteran age groups and canicross positions; there is also a club team prize. Half of any surplus will be donated to the Bath, Keynsham & Somer Valley Foodbank. First aid medics and course marshals will be in place during the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
