Keynsham Dandy
The Keynsham Dandy is a 12.5 miles trail race held on 18 October 2026, starting in Keynsham at The New Inn, 90 Bath Hill. The route runs alongside rivers and through rolling agricultural land and woods, and includes at least two streams. The course can be muddy with slip and trip hazards; runners are asked to take care near livestock and to walk when passing cattle.
Entry is limited to a maximum of 200 runners including 40 canicross places. There are no entries on the day. The advertised entry fee is £21 or £23 for unaffiliated runners. The event minimum age is 18.
Canicross entries require one dog per runner, a CaniX regulation waistbelt and public liability cover for the dog; owners must clean up after their dogs. Canicross runners start before the main field in separate waves.
Race support includes over 30 marshals, First Aid medics, two water stations on the course and one at the finish. TACH races are cup less so runners should bring a cup or refillable bottle; reusable soft collapsible cups are available for purchase. Every finisher receives a medal. Prizes are awarded in Open and Female categories, age groups, canicross and for club teams. Half of any event surplus will be donated to the Bath, Keynsham and Somer Valley Foodbank.
Notable rules include a ban on in ear earbuds while bone conduction headphones are permitted, and time penalties for avoiding the two streams. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
