Kettlefoot 50k

Event Overview
The Kettlefoot trail running event takes place in the Doe Mountain Recreation Area near Mountain City, Tennessee. The event features multiple distances:
- 50K: Approximately 31 miles with about 5,700 feet of elevation gain.
- 25K: Approximately 15.5 miles with about 2,850 feet of elevation gain.
- 13K: Approximately 8.5 miles with about 2,000 feet of elevation gain. The 50K course consists of running the 25K loop twice. Participants have the opportunity to climb a 60-foot fire tower for panoramic views.
Registration and Fees
Registration is handled online. The registration fee covers facility use, aid stations, a finisher award, and post-race food. T-shirts are available as an add-on purchase. A 50% refund is available until March 30, 2026. Registration transfers to another runner are permitted until the same date.
Additional Activities
A free Kiddlefoot Mile trail run is offered for children aged 5 to 12 on race day. The one-mile route is relatively flat, and a responsible adult may accompany a child. No awards or swag are provided for this activity.
Logistics
Early packet pickup is available on Friday evening. Runner check-in and packet pickup continue on Saturday morning before the races begin. There are cutoff times for each distance, with the 50K requiring a finish within 10.5 hours. The event is USATF sanctioned. Volunteers receive a t-shirt and post-race food.
