Event
Kettlefoot is a trail running event on May 30, 2026, at Doe Mountain Recreation Area near Mountain City, Tennessee (1203 Harbin Hill Rd.). The event is USATF sanctioned. Participants may climb the 60-foot Kettlefoot Fire Tower for 360° views of Tennessee, Virginia, and North Carolina. The course uses trails at Doe Mountain and includes varied terrain.
Distances
- 50K: ~31 miles; ~5,700 ft elevation gain; 10.5 hour cutoff; two loops.
- 25K: ~15.5 miles; ~2,850 ft elevation gain; 7.5 hour cutoff.
- 13K: ~8.5 miles; ~2,000 ft elevation gain; 4 hour cutoff.
Kiddlefoot Mile
The Kiddlefoot Mile is a free, one-mile trail run for ages 5-12. A responsible adult may accompany a child. Signup is on race day. The course is relatively flat and no placement awards or other swag are provided.
Registration and logistics
Registration is online through Ultrasignup; there is no paper registration. Entry fees cover facility use, aid stations, a finisher award, and post-race food. T-shirts are an add-on option. Refunds and transfers are allowed at 50% or until March 30, 2026, respectively. Pregnancy/postpartum deferral is permitted for up to two years; other deferrals are not allowed. The organizer can be contacted about camping on DMRA property. Nearby towns: ~20 minutes from Damascus, VA; ~30 minutes from Boone, NC; ~60 minutes from Johnson City and Bristol, TN.
