Keswick Half Marathon

Keswick Half Marathon is an annual half marathon (13 miles 192.5 yards) held in Keswick. The route runs around Derwentwater and includes an additional loop into the Newlands valley. The start line is at Portinscale.

The event is organised by Keswick Rugby Club to raise funds for its grass roots rugby programme. Income from the race supports coaching, equipment and club facilities and has contributed to replacing flood damaged buildings with a new club house. The club runs teams across age groups, including mixed junior teams, seven junior boys teams, four junior girls teams, two senior men’s teams and a senior women’s team.

The race is staffed by volunteers from the rugby club and the local community; marshals and volunteers provide course support and encouragement. Chip timing is new for 2026 and the chip will be embedded in the race number, with results available via a live results feed.

Entry details include an entry fee of £37.00 plus a booking fee, with discounted rates for affiliated runners. Registration is open in the lead up to the race and closes on Friday 18th September 2026. The option to request a free t-shirt and to purchase a commemorative medal closes on Wednesday 9th September 2026. Number collection takes place at Keswick Rugby Club on the weekend before and on the day of the race.
