The May the 4th - Kessel Run 5k takes place on May 2, 2026 in Houma, Louisiana at 7850 West Main Street. It is part of a nonprofit festival that blends Star Wars fandom with Cajun culture and raises funds for local high school band programs, with particular support for H.L. Bourgeois High School Band.
The event combines a glow infused night run and a kids fun run as part of its activities. The Kessel Run and Ewok Trot are presented together; the Kessel Run is in its 2nd year while the festival is in its 6th year. The race is open to participants of all ages and costumes are encouraged. Every registration contributes to grants and resources for Terrebonne Parish band students.
