Reindeer Run 5K
The Reindeer Run is a celebratory 5K that closes the Girls on the Run Bayou Region season. The event is scheduled for December 5, 2026 at the Terrebonne Parish Courthouse in Houma, Louisiana. It is presented as a non competitive, end of season celebration for program participants and their running buddies, and community members may also participate if they register.
The course length is 3.1 miles. Every registered participant who completes the 5K receives a commemorative medal. Short sleeve race t shirts are provided to every entrant, with sizes not guaranteed after November 15. Registration fees are listed as Pre registration twenty dollars, Late registration twenty five dollars, and On site registration thirty dollars. All registrations include a liability waiver.
The event is designed to be inclusive. Participants may walk, run, roll or push at their own pace and the course is accessible for people with disabilities. A running buddy is an individual who accompanies a program participant for the entire course; parents or guardians may serve as running buddies. A virtual 5K option is available and remains 3.1 miles; running buddies are encouraged for virtual participation.
Practical details include packet pick up at the registration desk on the day of the event, downtown Houma public parking for attendees, and a request not to park along the road used by the course. Volunteer roles include set up and tear down, registration, course marshals, running buddies and water stations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
