Coastal Running in East Kent
The Kent Coastal Half Marathon and 10k takes place along the coastline in East Kent, situated just outside Margate. The event is held at Palm Bay School and features a route that passes scenic bays, beaches, and offers views across the sea. The event is organized in partnership with the OverRun Project to promote mental health and well-being through running.
Participants can choose from two distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10 km
The course is located in a coastal environment where participants may encounter wind and hilly sections. Following the run, a rest and recovery zone is provided for participants to use. Under UK Athletics rules, the minimum age to participate in the 10 km is 15 years, while the minimum age for the Half Marathon is 17 years.
Venue facilities include on-site toilets, free parking for attendees, and refreshments. Advanced entry is available for both distances with different rates for affiliated club members and unaffiliated runners. If space remains, entries may be accepted on the day of the event.
